Holidays with Grandies!!!

Well, they have come and all but gone, (school hols I mean). Had
my eldest daughter and two grandies down from Wellington staying
for the first week.

Drove home yesterday from Hokitika, had been staying at the youngest
daughters minding the grandson, (seven) while Mum and Dad at work.

Photo is the five grandchildren enjoying time together in Tapawera
at middle daughters home.

Can't say much of a holiday had, but hey totally loved doing lots
with them all, a joy to have...

Home Again

A little bit of a "panic attack"
set in on Wednesday night, heard that
the ash over N.Z. could come down
to sea level!!! After a slightly restless night
good to go Thursday early am, from Nelson airport
thru to Auckland.
Yay, two excited ladies heading off to the 5th SENZ
expo (for both of us)...
As per usual, I enjoyed a fantastic class with Rachel Tucker,
love her girly style and always a fun class as well as new techniques learned.

A class I did with Lianne Gray (Scottie Crafts)
saw me complete this awesome canvas. (pictured)
Thanks heaps Lianne.

My other class was with Beverley Cunningham, a
tutor from Scottie Crafts as well. A fabulous
"Tim Holtz" mini album, I will post a picture
as soon as completely finished.
Thanks heaps to you as well Beverley...

Good shopping, food, R+R (well not much of that!!!)
friends, roll on SENZ 2012!!!

Lastly, thanks Brendy for your great company/friendship/humour!!!

The challenge over at Scottie Crafts...

Latest challenge at Scottie Crafts is to use summer pics and do "your take" on
the displayed sketch.

Found what I think is the ideal photo. John and Matthew in the surf
at Okiwi Bay. Not too sure about the look on your face tho' Mattie,
are you scared Dad's gonna let you slip, or worried he's gonna say
"Time to get out now"!!!

Just over two weeks away!!!

Hope you all made the most of the weather over the holiday weekend.

Can't believe how warm the temperatures are still, probably a false sense of security (or warmth)
though eh.. Still as long as winter does'nt decide because of late arrival, it can drag on into spring etc...

And yep, it is just over two weeks until SENZ 2011, so lookin' forward to good company, good shopping, and new skills to put into practise. And oh not forgetting a break from work as well, yay!!!

Have been working on this Xmassy layout to enter over at Southern Girls latest challenge. Isn't it hard to believe we are nearly half way through 2011, and into mid winter Xmas dinners etc. etc...

Queens Birthday Weekend... Was it wet, oh yes it is!!!

Posted by Picasa

Hope you are all having a great holiday weekend. Weather in my hometown of Nelson has been wet, wet, wet!!!
Have had two of the grandies stay while Mum in Wellington, we have had loads of fun even tho' wet. Magnificent "hut" built in the lounge, just lucky the lounge is a good size, as has stayed put for most of the time.
We made Mum a birthday cake/cards etc. as she has a birthday on the 7th.
Did manage to complete a layout today and I am entering this in Scrapbox NZ challenge and also at Scrapbook
Dreams

Let's hope the last day of Queen's birthday weekend is fine eh!!!

Angus Reilly Oliver, the eldest of my three grandsons, this pic taken about five or so years ago, have done this for Scottie Crafts challenge, not a 12x12 layout and use baby blue, spring green and yellow.

Size is a 10x10, had lots of fun on sewing machine, punched around edge of photo, and threaded ribbon through, hidden journalling tag sits behind photo.

Oh What A Beautiful Morning

A lovely sunny Nelson morning, makes it hard to believe that around the next corner or two, is the winter...
Days like this make me appreciate how good it is to be happy and well, and to not take anything for granted eh...
Have just booked my classes for SENZ 2011, which is this year held in Auckland near the end of June.  It is my bestfriend/myself's annual craft highlight that we escape too!!!
Completed this layout of
my eldest grandchild, she
is growing up so fast. Will
enter this l/o in Southern Girls
challenge, being use lace and
pearls.

Followed the sketch
challenge at Scrapbook Dreams,
so will also enter there.

Ripe Old Age

Oh wow, it has been sooooooo good to see the sunshine today (and for the entire day)...

If it has't been raining or blowing it has been just "dull". I probably should have taken advantage of this gorgeous day and gone for a walk along the beach, but hey, when you know you need to get some scrapbooking completed, well, say no more.

Completed this L/O, it is MIL on her 90th birthday. Liked the look of the challenge on Scottie Crafts, so this is what has "come together".

Used products etc, as stated, doily, tag, flowers, bling, leaves, punch, inks, old necklace I dismantled.

Good Company/Food/Wine

Have just had a really lovely relaxing weekend in the beautiful Golden Bay area, staying in a Holiday House at Tata Beach.  Weather was very changeable, but between downpours we did manage to fit in quite a lot.
Seven of us went, a Nannie and a Nana, a Daughter and a Daughter-In-Law, and four delightful Grandies..
Those that wanted to, enjoyed kayaking, swimming, a little rock climbing, salmon fishing, a labyrinth amongst rocks, (fantastic).
We visited The Rosy Glow homemade chocolate shop in Collingwood, the Living Light candle shop, and also took the children to Bencarri Farm Park, but alas that closed for the winter months last weekend!!!
We enjoyed a quiet tipple or two in the evenings with plenty of yummy snacks and food devoured...  Yum
Thanks Brendy, Asha, Trace, Emily, Hamish, Jack and Curtis for your great company over the weekend.

Checked out the challenge at Southern Girls for this fortnight, one for the "girls"...  This one completed very recently.

Birthday Make a card, WHAT???

Hubby celebrated his big day this week, so what to get him!!??  Right, vouchers are always good for this bloke, something relating to mechanical or fishing go down a treat...  Picked the voucher up,oops forgot a card, never mind me and my "card making" skills, (NOT) will set too and construct a card.   Anyway to cut a long story short, after two hours deliberating what/how I would do, gave up on the idea.  Remembered Southern Girls had posted a sketch challenge, so out with some old pics, found one of his parents from the 1980's and put together this layout for him.. Guess what, hit the nail on the head here!!!  He was impressed, I tell you!!!

"Quality Time"...

Have just spent the last three days at Brendy's house in the Marlborough Sounds. Fantastic time with her doin what we both love to do!!! The weather has not been the best, so have not had
to carry any guilt at all re sitting on backside scrappin and chattin etc...
Have had a productive time, completing three layouts, flower making etc etc etc.
Also brought my "take" on the March challenge at Scottie's Crafts
with me that needed completion, have achieved this as well.
So the challenge set was, use two items of PRIMA products,,, I used one piece of their gorgeous stitched paper, lots of cutting around the flowers, and then mounted this to another piece of PP. I "masked " a serviette and added this as the next layer. Made a slit in the top piece of prima to make room for my "hidden journalling" tag... I also cut some hearts from another piece of prima specialty stitched paper, added some prima flowers and pearls to finish with, liking this lots!!!
Back home tomorrow, reality check,,, work!!!

Back Home For A HOLIDAY !!!

Just as the title says, yep I am back at home/work for a holiday. Great time in Wellington, but boy, whoever said that entertaining/amusing etc etc, and all that goes with a six and a two year old, was a "piece of cake", has got to be kidding!!! Happy that I had my three while in late teens early twenties, am sure I had heaps more energy then. But hey would not be without the grandies and it is not as though it is 24/7...

Took this pic of Caitlin while we were out for a fluffy and a coffee, and have completed the L/O for Southern Girls challenge, "Use Flowers". PP's use are "My Minds Eye", various flowers for deco...

Social Wee Butterflies!!! And Gorgeous Too!!!

I just so love the Webster's PP's. Don't have to add a lot
to have a completed L/O, if you don't want too...
Layout is of my two grandaughters, Emily and Caitlin, both to the left of
photo, and on the right is Jordan, who is niece to Jackie and Sam..

Really looking forward to the week ahead, off to Wellington
tomorrow to stay with family, and also to pay a visit to
a scrapbooking friend from the Hutt.
I'm sure will return with heaps more pics to work with,

An old school pic!!!

Posted by Picasa
Have had this photo sorted and sitting around for a while, decided to try and do something with it this morning...
Am "Ok" with the result,PP used is Kaisercraft, "What A Hoot". Have used up a few "scraps" which is always good, and used leaves cut for me on girlfriend's Silhouette.

Have the rest of today and tomorrow off work, so hope to achieve a little more

To "fellow" crafters/scrapbookers out there, have a good weekend, and to all in Canterbury who have been affected, traumatised, etc, etc, by the recent earthquake, I know our thoughts, prayers and the very best of wishes are with you all...
Go the red and blacks.

"In Passing"

Happened to mention to Brendy the other day
needed another challenge to have a go at!!!

She pointed me in the direction of "Scottie Crafts"
saying she had seen a sketch challenge posted there,
why not take a look and give that a go.

This is what I have come up with.

Jackie and Sam cutting their cake, have used decorative
cake papers off the cup cakes of the cake as layering
some distressing, inking, made the leaves and inked white
flowers as close to hydrangeas colour decorating cake
as I could.  Hidden behind cake papers is back part of
thankyou notes they sent out.

Twice in a few days!!!

Well, back again... While making spaghetti today, had some time to finish a layout

of my best friend Brendy and myself at Jackie and Sams's wedding in January.

Who knows what I may complete tomorrow, but... still have one and a half

buckets of tomatoes looking me straight in the eye every time I walk past them!!!

But hey, us girls are good at multi tasking eh!!! LOL

WELL,,, THEY DO SAY THAT TIME FLIES.............

Hi to all, well nearly three months since I was last here!!!  Pretty poor effort I must admit...

All VALID excuses though, a family
wedding. (Youngest Daughter was married in
January, credit to you Jackie tho', your
organisational skills are brilliant!!!)

My time was taken up with the right
"shots", nic nacs etc. that are all part
of my scrapbooking addiction  LOL!!!

L/O of the happy couple leaving the church.  The journalling behind RS photo
is the "Save the Date" card, the "Bride &  Groom" tags were tied to their little boxes of Hersheys chocolates, that Wedding party/guests had on their tables.

January saw four out of the five Grandies all totally enjoying the
local (TAPAWERA) annual "show day".
I am sure the fifth would have enjoyed as well, but had already gone home to Wellington with her Mum and Dad.

Mattie proved how safe!!!lol a driver he is, with Em having every confidence in him to ride "pillion"....

Angus (2nd from left)along with Hamish (left), totally loved the train rides and tug-o-war...

Does not seem too many years ago that their Mother's were the same ages attending the same event.
